About the Museum

Brooks Academy Museum, home to the Harwich Historical Society, displays an extensive exhibit of artifacts, photographs and interactives related to the cranberry industry with a special focus on Harwich.

Hours of Operation

The museum is open Thursdays 1pm to 6pm, and Saturdays 1pm to 4pm, June 18 through October 7, other times by appointment. Please call ahead to discuss other opportunities.  We will also sponsor a tour of a cranberry bog on October 12.  Call in September to reserve a place.

Driving Directions

From the Mid-Cape highway, Route 6 take exit 10 (route 124) and go south for about one mile.  Turn right onto Main Street and then make a quick left back onto Route 124.  The museum is on your right.  Turn onto Parallel Street, located just past the building.
